Technical details (for the curious)
PON
PON (Passive Optical Network) is steady when the modem is registered on the provider’s fibre network. Blinking for a long time = registering, or not yet activated by the provider.
LOS
LOS (Loss Of Signal) means no light arrives through the fibre. Causes: a bent or broken cable, a loose connector, or a fault on the provider’s line. Never bend that thin white/yellow fibre cable.
LAN and WLAN
LAN lights up when a network cable is plugged in. WLAN/WiFi blinks when data goes over WiFi; off means the modem’s WiFi is switched off (often a WLAN button on the side).
