Log out of other computers
Phone › WhatsApp › Linked devices › tap the device › Log out. Do this also if you see a device you don’t recognise: someone may be reading your chats.
The phone doesn’t need to be online
With multi-device, the laptop stays connected even when the phone is off, up to 4 devices at once. If the phone isn’t opened for 14 days, linked devices are logged out.
There is an app too
Besides the browser, there is a WhatsApp app for Windows in the Microsoft Store. You link it the same way: scan the QR code.
