Move WhatsApp to a new phone

Step 1 of 3

On the old phone: back up your chats

Open this menu and press Back up. Wait until it finishes.

Menu names may be slightly different on your phone brand.

  1. On the old phone: back up your chats

    Open this menu and press Back up. Wait until it finishes.

  2. On the new phone: use the same Google account

    Then install WhatsApp, enter the same number and the 6-digit SMS code.

  3. Press Restore

    Wait until your chats come back.
