Technical details (for the curious)
Why only from the Play Store
The Play Store checks apps with Google Play Protect. APK files from WhatsApp or websites aren’t checked and are the main way phones get data-stealing apps.
App permissions
When an app first opens it asks for permissions (camera, location, contacts). Allow only what makes sense: a flashlight app doesn’t need your contacts.
Storage full
If you see “Not enough storage”, delete old videos or unused apps first. See the guide “Phone storage is full”.
