Fake download buttons
Free-download sites are full of ads that look like big “Download” buttons. The real button is usually smaller and shows the file’s name and size.
.exe and .apk files
An .exe file installs a program; only run ones from the official maker. Never open .exe files that arrive by email or WhatsApp.
Changing where downloads go
In Chrome/Edge: Settings › Downloads › Ask where to save each file so you always choose the folder.
