Block spam and scam calls

Calls known to be spam no longer ring.

Menu names may be slightly different on your phone brand.

  2. For one number: press and hold it in Recents › Block

    Tick “Report call as spam” so other people are protected too.

    Banks, couriers and WhatsApp never ask for an OTP code by phone.

How the phone knows it is spam

Google’s Phone app compares the number with reports from millions of users. The more people report, the faster a scam number is recognised.

Samsung and other brands

On Samsung: Phone › ⋮ › Settings › Block numbers and Caller ID and spam protection. Other brands use similar names.

WhatsApp calls

This filter is for normal calls only. For WhatsApp: Privacy › Calls › Silence unknown callers.
