Uninstall an app on the laptop

Step 1 of 3

Open Settings › Apps › Installed apps

Every installed app is listed.

The simulation shows Windows in English, like most laptops.

  1. Open Settings › Apps › Installed apps

  2. Click ⋯ next to the app and choose Uninstall

    Sort by size to find the biggest ones.

  3. Click Uninstall again to confirm

    Follow the removal window if one appears.

    Don’t remove drivers or the laptop maker’s apps if you aren’t sure what they do.

Apps that aren’t in the list

Older programs sometimes only appear in Control Panel › Programs and Features (Win + R › appwiz.cpl).

Leftover files

Uninstalling usually leaves a few settings in the AppData folder. That is normal and small. Never delete Program Files folders by hand; use Uninstall.

Apps that won’t uninstall

If it fails, restart and try again. Third-party antivirus is best removed with the official removal tool from its maker.
