Turn off annoying notifications on the laptop

Step 1 of 3

Open Settings › System › Notifications

You see the list of apps allowed to send notifications.

  1. Open Settings › System › Notifications

  2. Turn off the apps that annoy you

    Switch them Off. Important ones like Mail can stay on.

  3. Turn on Do not disturb when you need quiet

    All notifications pause, for example during a meeting or a presentation.

Notifications from websites

If they come from a website (ads, “virus detected”), turn them off in the browser: Settings › Privacy and security › Site settings › Notifications. See the browser pop-ups guide.

Automatic schedule

Under Do not disturb, set Turn on do not disturb automatically at certain hours, such as at night or when duplicating your screen to present.

Priority

Set priority notifications lets calls or certain people through even when Do not disturb is on.
