Open the tank cover and that colour’s cap
Each colour has its own cap. Open only one.
Stand the bottle upside down on its tank
The bottle tip only fits its own colour. The ink stops by itself when the tank is full. Put the cap back.
- Never mix colours. Ink in the wrong tank usually needs cleaning at a service centre.

Technical details (for the curious)
Why a bottle only fits one colour
Original ink bottles have a differently shaped tip for each colour and a valve that only opens when it sits on the tank. That prevents wrong colours and spills.
Original vs cheap refill ink
Cheap ink can be too thick or settle, then clog the print head. Cleaning uses a lot of ink, and a damaged print head is expensive.
After refilling
The ink takes a few minutes to reach the print head through the tubes. If prints are faded after a refill, run a Nozzle Check, then Head Cleaning.
